When I lived overseas I recall receiving poppy lapel pIns right before Memorial Day and they left an imprint on me. In honor of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country I created these cards as my Memorial Day tribute to the fallen.

This single poppy is serene and to me is symbolic of the sacrifice made by those who died in defense of our country.

This fields of poppies reminds me of the following poem:
In Flanders Fields
By Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
I recall receiving poppies
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead; short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved; and how we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The tour ended; be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, through poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
It is my prayer that my humble cards would be of comfort to those who have lost their loved ones in service to our country.
